PROVIDENCE — Marketing executives at Hasbro expect to unleash a fool-proof Middle Eastern advertising campaign for Jenga this September after reportedly spending seven years perfecting it.

“I mean, we didn’t want it to be too soon, you know?” said Hannah Franklin, one of the Hasbro executives that crafted the campaign.

Jenga is Hasbro’s most popular game and involves a tower of wood comprised of crude rectangular blocks that players must remove from the middle and replace on the top.

The Middle Eastern campaign looks to market the same product, only painted black and coming in sets of two.

“Imagine this,” Franklin began, raising her arms as if painting a picture, “it’s a pool party in Kabul or some shit, and there’s a dozen Arabs lounging. We move in to a table where a small group of them are in the middle of playing two games of Jenga at once.”

Franklin stopped momentarily to take a gulp of water before emphatically resuming the advertisement.

“Well one of the towers begins to fall — and we’ll shoot that in slo-mo — and everyone’s eyes get really big in anticipation. And it crashes right into the other game next to it and everyone begins to cheer!”

Franklin added that the campaign will begin on Sept. 11.

  1. This is the best idea I’ve ever heard. It makes me feel so patriotic knowing such brilliance can come out of our own country. I don’t really get why they’re marketing to the Middle East though. All Americans love Jenga and I’m sure would love this new ad campaign! Keep it in our country! Kick it off in a big city, like New York!
